Most of the report controls (including button bar) - rely on categorical values given the nature of controls listing a distinct item list. You have however the option to assign an additional measure which is then aggregated given the categorical item (and displayed in brackets). Hi, here is an example using the data from your original post in VA 8.3 (latest production version): The data structure to support this would look like: And yes, the width of the path segment is driven by the number of paths (event occurrences) at this level. So in your example - you would have the # of patients. So yes, thinner paths would indicate less patients and vice versa. One can also replace frequency here to use another weight variable - for instance to represent a percentage or dollar value behind a given path. Path analysis does not support dynamic display rules to drive color assignments yet - but I believe that's something we are looking into. Hope this helps! Cheers, Falko

Sydney's busy public transport network is the base for this SAS Visual Analytics report example. With over 26%, it's the Australian capital city of public transport usage. I used a network visualization on a geo map to visualize the train, bus or ferry routes. Color coded using the official colors for Sydney Trains Network. I decided to use a portrait format for this report to better utilize the space (full image here). Data has been obtained by importing the complete TransXChange model for all operators provided by Transport for New South Wales open data platform..

Hi Albert, I'm not too sure why you see different behavior between existing and new users. Whether or not you have access to Esri services - depends on whether or not you have configured the related configuration property. Often the related url also needs to be added to the whitelist as described in https://go.documentation.sas.com/?docsetId=bimtag&docsetTarget=n1d1g9qpptzp4qn1acqgh2iwi2ga.htm&docsetVersion=9.4&locale=en#n1m7y8uebzbmnsn1g9uisqwczw5h Do new users experience any other problems in VA which are related? When you say - there is no option - do you mean the related Esri map service option is grayed out or the list of services is empty? Do you see the same issue when using SAS Visual Analytics Explorer? Here's a SAS Visual Analytics report showing animated airplane traffic routes. It's a relatively simple structured report but I wanted to test out geographical animation using actual location changes. I did not have data for things like airplane positions so the sample report shows generated data only. As shown in the animation - one can change the desired carrier by selecting the related bar in the top left corner. Interactivity will update other visualizations given this new selection including the geographical map and network routes. The data for the flight routes (network visualization) are provided by openflights.org.

The City of Melbourne has automated pedestrian counting sensors located across the city. These sensors provide pedestrian counts for the previous hour at the given location. The following SAS Visual Analytics report shows the geographical location of each sensor along with a street view given a selected sensor. The bottom charts give an indication of pedestrian counts during the day as well as expected counts using a 12-month forecast. The geographical map also includes a travel distance polygon showing sensors located in 800 meters walking distance given the point of interest. Data provided by the City of Melbourne as part of the open data platform.

Hi @Bal23 - can you be more specific what information you need? The example was created by importing the linked data source into SAS Viya (I can share the data prep code if you need help here). Then I used SAS Visual Analytics 8.3 and related visualizations in the object panel to design this infographic. I started off by adding a beautiful photograph of earth as full screen background. I decided to use precision layout container here as I wanted to overlay visuals on top of the background picture. Then I added a number of visualizations - including a regional geo map showing total number of storms by state as well as on city level. Creating the storm path visualization (right hand side, network viz on geo) can be a bit tricky since it requires a special network data set structure. Given the data was supplied in a 6-hrs interval - it was in fact just a matter of creating a network link between last storm location and the location 6hrs later. The SAS Visual Analytics documentation contains additional information about all visualizations the app supports. Hope this helps. Falko

It seems the map was not able to load map tiles. A map consists of a number of square blocks named tiles. Each tile is a separate image file on the map server. In the case of the default OpenStreet Map server tiles are loaded from http://opnsta.sas.com. A single tile for example of the area of Michigan would be http://opnsta.sas.com/mq_lite/5/8/11.png/7 . Often this caused by network connectivity issues or proxy configuration changes. Dependent on your version of VA - you may check out http://support.sas.com/kb/62/143.html and http://support.sas.com/kb/52/133.html and see whether steps described help in your case. This infographic shows tropical and subtropical cyclones between 1851-2017. While the original report is interactive - this snapshot shows three hurricanes selected in 2005 and related tracking is shown in the right hand network visualization. Left hand side shows overall impact on states, counties and cities given related landfall impact. Data obtained from National Hurricane Center using the Atlantic hurricane database (HURDAT2).

I started looking into data available from OpenFlights a little while back to see what connections are available from Australia given various carriers. I also wanted to test out some transparency related features added in VA 8.x so I thought about how to best merge the two. Certainly not the everyday business dashboard - but in the end creating #dataviz is also about creativity. The following example has only two main visualizations - a bar chart to the left (top 10 ranking given number of flights) and the main flight connections for a selected carrier (Air China in the screenshot) utilizing a network graph on geo. The network shows larger bubbles for airports with higher number of connecting flights for a given carrier. Adding two additional key indicators and text as well as mixing in a matching background image from Pexels renders as follow: The network graph really needs a legend to better explain the numbers - something for version 2.
