@BartDekeyser,   I do not see the tasks in SAS Studio going anywhere anytime soon.  As one of the tasks developers, I may be a little biased, but I think the tasks are an integral part of SAS Studio, and SAS Studio itself is an important SAS programming interface given that it comes with Base SAS, SAS Viya, or SAS University Edition.  If anything, the underlying framework for the tasks (Common Task Model) is actually in the process of being incorporated into a couple of other SAS applications (but that is still being researched and developed).     By the way, I am always eager to talk to custom task writers to learn more about their use cases and the what they like/dislike about using/writing tasks in SAS Studio.  I will send you a private message with my contact information.   Best,   -Brian ... Hi Nancy,   I'm glad to help!     When you click on the "Submission history' icon, you are right that a new editor tab opens up that contains the code from that submission.  However, it should still have the Log and Results tabs with the corresponding information for that submission: If I click on the Results tab, then I would see:   The above screen shots were done using SAS Studio 3.6, so it should work.  If you still have issues, please post back.   -Brian   ... Hi Nancy,   Which version of SAS Studio are you using?    Depending on which version you are using, in the code editor window there is a "submission history" icon next to the running person icon which enables you to view the Code, Log, and Results tabs from recent submissions:     An option to append the log instead of clearing it is actually a new feature that will be available in the next release of SAS Studio (SAS Studio 3.8) that is scheduled before the end of the year.  However, to my knowledge, this option applies only to the Log and not the Results.   Hopefully this is helpful!   -Brian ... Bill,   That should not be the case.  I just accessed UE from my PC, which is also using SAS Studio 3.71 Basic Edition, and all 17 tasks in the Statistics category are visible as they should be:   Have you observed this problem on more than one PC?  My guess is that something is not right with the install on the Windows machine.  I would delete the UE appliance from your VM program, download a new OVA file, and then re-import it.  That will hopefully take care of it, but if not, please post back. ... It is possible to export/download the results (including figures and output tables) as a Word file, as well as PDF or HTML.    To do so, you first must enable this option in Preferences.  First, click the "More application options" in the upper-right corner of SAS Studio and then select Preferences:   In the Preferences window, access the Results section and then select the "Produce RTF output" option:   The next time you generate results, the option to "Download results as an RTF file" will be enabled:   After downloading the generated RTF file, the figure is now in a Word file:   Is this what you are looking for? ... Hi @BartDekeyser,   Could you please provide more background information on what you mean by a distinct list from a table in a database?   The Common Task Model does have a distinct control, which is essentially a combobox that contains the distinct values for a role variable.  For example, you may want to chose the level of interest for a response/target variable to be modeled.     The Sample Task has an example of this.  First specify the "Required variable" Role on the DATA tab, and then go to the "DISTINCT" section/group in the OPTIONS tab.   Would this work for what you are trying to do? ... I checked with the developer for PROC CAUSALMED, and confirmed that currently the weight statement is not supported by that procedure.  However, he did say that it will be considered for a future release, so it's good to know that you have use for it.   ... View more

My suggested fix pertained to being able to copy/paste data from an Excel file into the SAS Studio editor to be used with DATALINES.  However, in the code you provided, you are using PROC IMPORT to import the Excel file directly.  So my suggestion will not help with that.     After selecting the "Substitute spaces for tabs" option, did you try to use the data step to to import the data? ... As others have noted, when copy/pasting from Excel to the DATA step, the data are separated by special tab characters instead of spaces, which are causing the problem.     Another remedy to the issue is to change your SAS Studio preferences to substitute tabs with spaces.  Depending on which version you are using (this screenshot is from version 3.71), go to Preferences --> Editor --> Check the "Substitute spaces for tabs" option:     Then, if you copy/paste the data back into the editor, the tabs will now display as spaces and the data successfully imported when I tried it.  If you still have issues, then please post back.   ... I may be missing something but the use of the bar (pipe) operator should not make a difference since it is equivalent to listing the factors separately.   Instead, I believe the issue is that the tukey option can only be used with main effects.  As per the PROC GLM documentation for the MEANS statement, "multiple comparisons tests apply only to main effects," and for the TUKEY option it states that it "performs Tukey’s studentized range test (HSD) on all main-effect means in the MEANS statement."     So the code means A B / tukey; means A*B; produces the same results as  means A B A*B / tukey; since the interaction effect will be ignored by Tukey's test. ... Which browser are you using?  Are you still experiencing issues?  I just tried to log into SAS OnDemand for Academics with an old version of Chrome as well as Firefox and did not have any issues accessing SAS Studio.    However, if you are still experiencing problems, please post back. ...
