I received the same error "failed to create initial ev User and Role" installing 9.4M5 in a non-SSL environment. The error was thrown because all of the PostgreSQL connections were in use. I edited the <sasconfig>/Lev1/WebInfrastructurePlatformDataServer/data/postgresql.conf file and changed max_connections = 256 to max_connections = 512 and the issue was resolved. ... View more

@SASKiwi - Most likely @cristiancon installed SAS Studio along with 9.4, EG, and EM, which is why SAS Web Server was installed and running. Opening up the Windows Services Snap-In (Start -> Run -> services.msc) and stopping SASStudioSpawner and SASStudioWebAppServer would have made uninstallation possible. ... View more

You said the message was for: (HQ Agent Memory - JVM Free Memory < 14.3 MB).   You changed the setting for SASServer 1, which doesn't help the agent.   1. Stop the agent (Even if it is not running just to be sure) ---------------------------- cd /<SASCONFIG>/Lev1/Web/SASEnvironmentManager/agent-5.0.0-EE/bin ./hq-agent.sh stop   2. This is a new behavior in 6.1.  5.1 Added underscores for us. I had many 5.1 projects break because of it.  I reported it to Chris Hemendinger at the Global Forum and he suggested that I submit it as an issue to the EG team.  I haven't gotten around to that yet.  In the meantime, I just manually added underscores in my import tasks... ... I have Versions 4.2, 4.3, and 5.1 of Enterprise Guide on my machine.  In 4.2, the Conditional Highlighting add-in works great.  In 4.3 and 5.1 I receive the same error message as you.  If you go to the "About" tab on the link above, you will see This sample includes a downloadable custom add-in task that can be used in SAS Enterprise Guide 4.2 only. The Enterprise JBoss version is not required.  Go to the JBoss Application Server Support for SAS® 9.3 page at http://support.sas.com/resources/thirdpartysupport/v93/appservers/jbosssw.html.  I am about to install the jboss-5.1.0.GA version in my environment, and I confirmed with Tech Support and the SAS Installer that it is supported in 9.3.  Ensure that you have the 64-bit version of JBoss, this is a new requirement in 9.3. ...
