Correct, when you select File - Import Data, the 'Open' dialog window opens and the default filter for 'Files of type' will list all the Importable Data files, including both .mdb and .accdb file types). You can also click the drop-down arrow and select other file types, including 'All Files'. However, during the import, you can get an error if you are importing a file such as an MS Access file and the bitness of the appropriate driver does not match the bitness of Enterprise Guide (for example, you have 32bit MS Office and the ACE driver and 64bit Eguide).
In regards to exporting data to external files, the 64bit version of Eguide does not support working with Access files, along with a few other older formats. When users selected these file formats, they would get an error, and since there will never be a 64bit version of the JET engine, these file formats were removed from the user interface. In the 32bit version of Enterprise Guide, you can still select to export data to an .mdb file.
