Many customers working with SAS on a Microsoft Windows desktop or server also have data stored in a Microsoft SQL Server database, and want to work with this data within SAS. SAS for Windows has two products, SAS/ACCESS® Interface to ODBC and SAS/ACCESS® Interface to OLEDB, that can connect to Microsoft SQL Server. This article describes how to configure both the SQL Server OLEDB data provider and/or the SQL Server ODBC driver on a Windows machine, as well as the different ways to connect to a database in SAS.
