Very strange indeed. I guess you have got something that works for now. The only downside will be you won't be able to expand your middle tier across multiple machines because the cache locator is bound to the loopback interface. So long as that is OK with you I guess we leave it. ... View more

The error is very clear. Caused by: com.gemstone.gemfire.SystemConnectException: Attempt to connect to distributed system timed out The cause is that the application server can't reach the cache locator. If there are firewalls review the setup. If you have a multi tiered deployment is the cache locator on the compute tier and middle tier running (read the log to check). @eXEC this is something to raise with technical support. There a bit of the context of this stack trace omitted. You don't have the task listed or anything like that. In your problem report to technical support please include the complete SAS log for the session that has this happen in. Try describe how was the system setup? What steps were taken to get the software installed? Does it always happen? Do you have any other similar systems that don't show the issue? ... View more

That is the memory usage of the step. The step only really needs a PDV allocated. The ERROR is coming from the library you are trying to write to. You are more than likely hitting the memory limit on the LASR server. If its SMP the SAS session MEMSIZE option is the cap. Rarely do you need to see this level of detail. What is the use case you have for monitoring at this level. Typically I'd suggest enabling GC logging. The JVM will log the metrics of the memory pools at GC events. This log can be read into a few different applications for visualising the JVM memory pools over time. ... View more

You only have a single odbc.ini. The driver manager that gets used is the one shipped with SAS/ACCESS Interface to Redshift. There is a special interaction between SAS and the driver manager that allows the driver manager to load other drivers. This is all explained in the last paragraph of the SAS/ACCESS Interface to Redshift section of the Configuration Guide for SAS 9.4 Foundation for UNIX Environments. I'd not use odbcinst, or any of the other tools shipped with the unixODBC driver manager in this case because the driver manager shipped within SAS/ACCESS Interface to Redshift is not based on unixODBC. ...
