As I have just started working with SAS Visual Analytics 7.3 I have encountered several hurdles.

I have no idea how to approach the following hurdle

I have 3 variables: name, gender and birthdate. I would like to link the text box below and assign the variables,

the link should then output a specific observation. In this case: Richard Simons, Male and 14 Apr 1946.

Hello Evi,

It wouldn't be the exact format you provided below, but you can put multiple Text Input controls on a section or container and use parameters to filter your report objects.

Here is some doc about parameters:

https://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/vaug/68648/HTML/default/viewer.htm#p1or3teobyuoskn1l3oy...

Unfortunately it is not easy to create a date parameter in the current release of VA. Here is a helpful post that describes the workaround:

https://communities.sas.com/t5/SAS-Communities-Library/Date-parameters-in-SAS-Visual-Analytics/ta-p/...

For the upcoming release of VA, we hope to support dates in parameters without so much hassle

I hope this helps a little,

Sam
