Using Date Features in Visual Analytics

I am trying to view the date features in Visual Analytics with a series of semesters e.g. Fall 2017 Spring 2017.  I created a dataset that contains the start date for each of the semesters.  Then I created quarters in Visual Analytics for each semester date.  Having the time as a date allows me to do predictive modeling and difference of parallel periods however, the date shows up as a date rather than Fall 2007.  Is there a way to use the text version?

If there was a way to custom format a date in Visual Analytics to a text format this might solve it.
