Hi there

We have added a new section to our dashboard and inserted a stored process object which has many prompts, some being mandatory.

In the viewer when the stored process is selected the stored process and is immediately executed.  The prompt do not dialog is not appear and do not have any opportunity to enter prompt values.

We have no difficulty running and selecting prompt values in VA when this is not attached to a dashboard.

I have enclosed the message that is appearing.

This is frustrating - any clues or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

The modern viewer is new in 7.3 so not available in 7.1 https://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/vaug/68648/HTML/default/viewer.htm#vaugwhatsnew73.htm

If you are using Internet Explorer, this may explain the error your experiencing http://support.sas.com/kb/57/829.html

Kind Regards,

Michelle

What version of SAS Visual Analytics are you using? I'm assuming 7.3 and using the modern version. You may need to change it to the classic version to use stored processes with prompts as described at http://support.sas.com/kb/57/009.html

Hi Michelle

We have 7.1.

We have looked into the 7.3 user guide which mentions the classic viewer and modern viewer however in 7.1 there is no mention of this.

Do you know if this can be done in 7.1?

Many Thanks for your comments.

Many thanks Michelle

Yes we tried this using a  Chrome browser and the prompts appeared as was suggested.

Thanks again - your comments were very much appreciated.

Unfortuntaely, we have another issue which we will raise another thread whereby when making multiple selections in a prompt which has a dynamic list, the stored process does not run  however works fine in Enterprise Guide, Excel using SAS Addin and Stored process web application (which we have created an external link from dashboard).  If we reduce the selections for the prompt in VA it runs ok.  Strange??

Pleased to hear the suggestion worked.

With regards to your other issue it does sound strange. It might be useful to look at the log files for SAS Visual Analytics and the Stored Process server to see if there are any messages.

Can you share your SP SAS code. I presume you are not using _webout in your SP? SP can be deployed with prompts in SAS VA

Hi,

I would like to know how stored process prompts can be executed and selected in VA. Currently my stored processes having prompts are executed from SAS Information Delivery Portal, which I need to migrate to Visual Analytics. The stored process reports are simple tabular reports which then need to be downloaded in Excel.

Thanks much.
