Hi,
I have observed that SAS Visual Analytics automatically removes duplicate records in my report. I am curious about why this default behaviour exists and if there are any options available in SAS Viya 4(version 2023.10) to prevent the removal of duplicates. Seeking insights and guidance.
Thank you.
As noted above, VA does not remove duplicates but it aggregates them.
If you want to see multiple instances of the same categorical values in a table in VA, enable "Detail data" on the Options pane.
Please reconsider your understanding of Visual Analytics. Or take a course.
Visual Analytics is about AGGREGATIONS, that's the main point.
As default you're shown as many rows as combinations of character variables are available and pass the different filters. You can make numeric variables behave as they were character, these would add up to the combinations.
Then there's the default frequency aggregated measure. It counts the number of rows behind the aggregated line.
And all numeric variables assigned to roles of the object behave as of their setting in aggregation like average, mean, max, sum...
As noted above, VA does not remove duplicates but it aggregates them.
If you want to see multiple instances of the same categorical values in a table in VA, enable "Detail data" on the Options pane.
