It has exclamation mark and shows "The filter resulted in an empty set of data" when first open the report but data will be refreshed as soon as i select something on the dropdown list.

I have about 10 reports with me all hand-built by me. They all have the exact settings.
The only difference is that the 10 reports has its own data source (with only different table name) but columns are mostly identical.

Of the 10 reports, only 3 reports have this behaviour whereby first opening of the report will show exclamation mark and no value will be shown in the diagram etc....until i click on something from the dropdown value.

Here is the thing, all my reports have this "Required" option ticked under "Drop-Down List" In Designer page.

What could possibly be causing this and how do i resolve this?

Hi,

Since I don't have your report, it might be hard for me to troubleshoot for you. However, I would like to give you the following suggestion based on previous experiences:

From your data source used in the report, do you have data variables that have the same naming but different type?
For example, some user have variables with different type but same naming. If these variables are used in the filter. It might cause the issue you mentioned.

Please check and modify the naming of variable or rebuild the filter to see if it helps.
Thank you!
