Once again for my next project assignment on SAS VA, I am lost in an ocean of documents.

We have SAS VA on a Windows Server 2012 x64 server. Our license includes SAS/ACCESS.

Our database is Sql Server.

Here is what I want to do:

  1. Make sure if SAS/ACCESS is installed and is ready to use.
  2. Set up a connection to the database
  3. Using a simple query to load the data into SAS VA as a Data Source.

Please let me know if there is a good walkthrough other than SAS/ACESS' 1000-page manual.

No need to read 1000 pages, use content navigation or the search facility in the online doc...

For 1, check with the SAS Admin. Will also be verified when you try no 2. Just issue a libname to your SQL Server according to the doc and the settings at your site.

3 will be discussed in the VA documentation.
