Hi @sas_viclearner

It seems you are a new user to SAS Support Communities - welcome and I'm sure you'll get lots of benefit and support. One way for members to help you better though is to post questions in a more descriptive manner that describes your problem. There is a good article in the Welcome board, I'd encourage you to read - https://communities.sas.com/t5/Getting-Started/How-to-get-fast-helpful-answers/ta-p/226133

With regards to the questions you have... yes these can be done in SAS VA and in many ways... it depends on the structure of your data. Can you please provide an extract of your student data or if it is sensitive, please prepare dummy data that is an example of the data structure you have? By providing more detail of your situation, members can advise accordingly.

Also what version of SAS Visual Analytics are you using? Are you using SAS VA Explorer or Designer? What have you tried? People are generally more willing to assist members to those that have shown they have tried to do it themselves first.

In essence, help us to help you...

Kind Regards,

Michelle

Hi,

Thanks for letting us know you are new to VA. Perhaps some training is in order to get familiar with the interface and assist with the basics. I'd advise you to have a look at the following videos, articles and also the documentation. Further to that, I'd encourage you to look at a training course, http://support.sas.com/training/us/paths/va.html and book https://www.sas.com/store/books/products-solutions/sas-visual-analytics/an-introduction-to-sas-visua...

In order to access the data via the link provided, we would need an account. As such we cannot see your data.

Kind Regards,

Michelle

Hi,

Thank you for the material. It was very helpful.

Could you please tell me how to do the average absent days and average discipline days by lunch status. Please see the attached file for more information.

Thanks in advance.

The attachment you've provided doesn't show us your attempt in answering the question. For instance, your report object isn't using lunch_status.

Think about the question you've been asked. You need to provide a report on absent days, discipline days and lunch status. So you need to use the data items that reflect this. You need to also make sure it is calculating an average so for the measures, absent_days and discipline_days select them in the data pane and make sure the measure is changed from the default Sum to Average.

Then YOU need to think about what is the best visualization for your report. If you are using SAS Visual Analytics Designer is it a cross-tab or a dual-axis chart etc.

If you don't know how to chart these 3 data items, I suggest you use SAS Visual Analytics Explorer and use the Autochart visualization where you can drag the 3 data items onto it and it will determine the best visualization for you.

If you require detailed assistance in designing and building your reports then it would be advisable to do training or to hire a consultant.

Kind Regards,

Michelle
