Hello,
i have the following error on the right panel of the dialog box when i want to open a datasource.
com.sas.svcs.workplace.client.ConnectionExceptionHolder :
The application could not log on server plxsasan01:8701
No server is available at that port on that machine
It's right that there is no server Listening on this machine but the service "sas" seems to be started normaly.
What did i mess ?
thank you.
I finnaly looked at the logs and found the pb in ObjectSpawner logs
The user sassrv had an expired password.
thank you.
Port 8701 is used for the pooled workspace server, which is used to pre-screen available SAS/ACCESS licenses in order to populate the Import Data panel. You can test the pooled workspace server connection, and maybe get a more descriptive error, in SAS Management Console.

Hello,
how can i test the server pooled connexion in SAS mgt Console ?
thank you.
1. In SAS Management Console, navigate to "Environment Management > Server Manager > SASApp > SASApp - Logical Pooled Workspace Server > SASApp - Pooled Workspace Server".
2. On the right side, you will see something like "Connection: SASApp - Pooled Workspace Server". Click on that line and select "Test Connection".

I know discussion of this question no loner continued.
But I encountered the same problem.
When I tried to click "import data" in SAS VA data parapertions,
error " The application could not log on server XXXXXX:8701
No server is available at that port on that machine " is shown.
I tried to test the server connection in SAS Management Console, it failed.
Any advise to solve this issue??
The most likely cause of the error is an expired or incorrect password for the launch credentials used for the pooled workspace server. Locate the most recent object spawner log that contains initialization information. The log will be in a directory similar to
<sasconfig>Lev1\ObjectSpawner\Logs
Look for the copy of the log that includes this line:
2016-11-28T15:41:56,453 INFO [00000003] :account- SAS Object Spawner Daemon III version 9.40.20150625 is initializing.
