Greetings All, I am looking for an comparison between Classic viewer vs Modern viewer, we are very closed to deploy few reports in Prod for our senior management and from last few days I am seeing all kinds of errors in Modern viewer, we are using IE on windows 7 error is mainly related to Out of stack space.. if my friends in this community answer me if I should go with Classic viewer over Modern or should I changed the browser , I shall be highly obliged, issue with browser change is that it will be difficult as we have company standard to use IE, but if there is no other option then I can take that path as well. many regards

You may want to look at the SAS support notes and read the known issues with the modern viewer at support.sas.com. There are also known limitations as documented at http://support.sas.com/kb/58/945.html

These other notes may also be useful to know:

Also search this Visual Analytics community on modern and classic viewer as this topic has been discussed a few times.

Kind Regards,

Michelle

What IE version are you using? We have used IE 11 a lot with VA, both modern and classic, without getting the out of stack error.

I suggest you track this issue to SAS Tech Support as they would be in the best position to help.

The Classic viewer has been around a lot longer so is likely more stable than the modern one. A lot of users stick to Classic because of the Modern limitations, like no export to Excel for example.

is anyone aware if Modern viewer has similar functionality as in Classical viewer, for ex : 1. Export to Excel 2. Print Image 3. Sort 4. Export image etc.

Please read the first hyperlink on limitations that I provided above - http://support.sas.com/kb/58/945.html

Here you will see that Export to CSV or Excel is not supported in the Modern viewer. It outlines the actions and features that are not supported.

Kind Regards,

Michelle
