As an example, what I’d like to do in VA 7.4 is a dynamic outlier flag. Q1, Q3, and IQR are aggregated measures found for each [ByGroup], but then I need a calculated item which flags each observation as 1 if > Q3 + 1.5 IQR or < Q1 - 1.5 IQR else 0. As of right now, calculated items cannot refer to aggregated measures, so I was wondering if there is some parameter trick to get this done. Thanks! Ryan

I'm surprised I still have no response! I guess this means it isn't possible???

Hi Ryan,

Aggregated measures are only known by the visualization - the [ByGroup] is dynamically determined within the visualization, depending on the categories added to the roles. I don't know what VA release you are talking about, but you can accomplish that with VA 8.3, using some of the new aggregation capabilities introduced on that release, such as aggregated data sources, data source join, and AggregateTable operator.

Best,

Renato

Hey Renato,

Thanks for the response. I am using 7.4. I'll edit the original post.

Thanks,

Ryan
