Hello,

Typically I have a wide range of values and I prefer to use the "advanced edit" option when applying my filters, however it looks like when I put aggregated measures in there (frequency, custom calculations) the advanced edit option is grayed out and I am not able to select it. Is there no way to more specifically edit the bounds of a filter on aggregated measures? (Using the sliders goes from 1 to 1000 with no in between, my goal is to set it at 30)

Thanks in advance!

Did you ever get an answer to your question?  I am having the same problem 🙂

Hello,

I'm using VA 8.5 and did the following test. I have simple a source data and I created a simple aggregated measure using New Calculated Item functionality: My Aggregation = Avg [_ByGroup_] ('Measure'n).

I have a List table and I created a filter using My Aggregation. This is how it looks like:

When I go to Advanced Edit it looks like this:

Comm_Capture2.PNG

I wonder what version of VA you have and the complexity of the aggregation?

Best regards,

Petri

Hi Petri,

I'm using SAS v8.3.  I have a simple aggregation that looks like this:

6-9-2020 3-01-16 PM.jpg

But when I try to use Advanced Edit to create a filter for it, it is greyed out.

The only thing I can think of which might be causing this is that I created my aggregated measure from an aggregated data source.  Can you try to create an aggregated data source from your list table, and then try to create an Advanced filter using the aggregated data source?

Thanks,

Barry

Hello Barry,

I followed your steps.

  1. I created an aggregated data from original data
Actions button > New data from aggregation of my_data_table -> my_aggr_data
  2. Using my_aggr_data I create a new aggregated measure
Avg Measure = Avg [_ByGroup_] ('Measure'n)
  3. Then I created a List table still utilizing my_aggr_data
  4. I added a filter for Avg Measure.

I found out that I was able to got to Advanced edit...

This really puzzles me. I wonder if you could try to replicate the problem with one the data sets you can find from Data Sources > cas-shared-default > Samples ? That way I could use the same data as you and the only difference would be our versions of sw.

Best regards,

Petri

Hi!

I am having the same problem here.

I have an aggregate meassure which does the following:

  If number_customer > 25 return number_customer else 0

I cannot make a filter over that aggregate.

Any ideas?
