Did the entire navigation pane disappear or just the Server Files and Folders section? You can click > View to specify the sections of the navigation pane that you want to view. If the Server Files and Folders section is not checked, select it, and it should reappear.
If the entire navigation pane has disappeared, try clicking in the work area toolbar to exit the maximized view and restore the navigation pane.
