Hi,

I'm writing a SAS Studio custom task in which I would like to load the content of a SAS dataset into an UI Element like a list- or a combobox. I know you can use a distinct control element for it, but as far as I know, only in combination with a datasource and / or role element.
As I would like to avoid having the enduser itself selecting the dataset and the variable of which the content needs to be loaded in the distinct element, I would like to define the datasource and the name of the variable via code in the custom task itself.

Does anyone knows whether this is possible ?

Hi davynijs_,

This is not possible today in Custom Tasks. It is definitely on the road map though.

Hi davynijs,

From what I know, what you are asking isn't possible at this time. In case you haven't seen it, here is the documentation for writing custom tasks: SAS Studio Developer's Guide for Writing Custom Tasks. This doc describes everything that is supported in the current SAS Studio release.

Hi,

I indeed found this document already but couldn't find an answer to my question neither.

Thanks for the feedback anyway.
