Understood. In the past in EG we would create a LIBNAME to a network drive path and use that to bring in and output SAS and Excel datasets and files. The goal is to mimic that in Viya.

The network share must be mounted on the Viya server.
But mind that a CAS grid is a different beast altogether.

You aren't going to be able to do that at all in Viya 4 unless it has already been defined in the Kubernetes container in which Viya runs. Viya 4 runs exclusively inside virtual containers where all resources and accesses have to be predefined.

Also be aware that many people won't look at Excel attachments because of security concerns.
