Recover unsaved SAS file

How can I recover unsaved file in SAS OnDemand-SAS studio. It automatically logged me out and when I signed it again, all my codes were gone. I did not saved the file at any point.

Unfortunately I don't believe there's a way to do so. Did you save the log at any point?

Definitely sucks but unfortunately a bit of a gotcha with On Demand.

Sorry to read that you've probably lost a piece of SAS code, which is always sad. Maybe you can describe (in a new thread) what the code did, ideally providing sample data, and what procedures or DATA step techniques you used and then ask about alternative approaches or whether yours was optimal. It's possible that some of the experts here will suggest coding ideas that you hadn't thought of and eventually you might have a new version of your program that is better than it was ever before. I was creating notes for my SAS base-programming certification exam. So, basically it contain all the codes required for the exam. I should have saved it at least at some point. Anyway, instead of discussing each and every codes, I would really appreciate if you (and other community members) can please suggest we some good recourses to prepare for SAS base-programming certification. So far, I have studied the official book 'SAS Certified Specialist Prep Guide: Base Programming Using SAS 9.4' , free practice test available on the official SAS website, and the SAS programing 1: Essentials from SAS virtual environment official website.

The certification guide is good enough in my experience. If you want practice, my suggestion is to try and answer questions on here or review the questions and solutions.
Caveat: I took the old exam, not the current one. No idea how it compares.

There's a SAS quizzing service that's also good practice, its partly paid but some people like that style

There is a subforum "SAS Certification" dedicated to this topic where similar questions have been discussed, involving relevant SAS employees such as beccagre and Mark2010, but also users sharing their "certification stories".

Moreover, in the SAS Communities Library there are recorded webinars/tutorials about particular SAS certifications (e.g., Tips and Strategies for the A00-231 SAS Base Programming Performance-Based Certification Exam or FREE webinar on SAS Base and Advanced Programming Professional Exams) together with Q&A lists. Enter the name or number of the certification you're heading for into the search field in order to find specific information.

Sometimes questions like How to know the extent of what will be on the exam? or base sas 9 certficate were asked in other subforums. Again, the search function will help to find these and you can sort the search results by date in order to focus on the most current information. I assume that, e.g., the FREE Webinar on What's New with SAS Certification describes recent changes in the certifications.

Another source of information is the blog "SAS Learning Post." Blog entries like Six tips to prepare for SAS programming certifications sound promising.

Oh...also for saving code snippets I highly suggest using Github, Gitlab or a similar cloud service so the programs are available anywhere, anytime. I have a tendency to change jobs every few years.

Old thread but I found my unsaved code in SAS Studio under View > Document Recovery

Hey, I lost my unsaved code and when I open View - I only get the options of the files/tasks/libraries etc. Am i looking in the right place? I don't see "Document Recovery" anywhere. Thank you!
