The SAS Programming 1: Essentials course was just updated November 2017.  The previous version retires in 2018.

Where can I read about what's new in the course?

Did the practice data change for the new version?

Are the exam topics updated?

Where can I see the latest exam topics?

Thanks.

Hi: The exam topics are always here: https://www.sas.com/content/dam/SAS/en_us/doc/other1/certification/exam-content/base-programmer.pdf

Typically, when we update a course it might only have errata updates or have the demos recorded in a new version of SAS or in a new editor, like SAS Studio. Or, sometimes, a course or courses are updated to support new technology (such as when the e-learning system switched to HTML5 and using BrightCove instead of Flash technology). I believe this latest update was to introduce the class into our newest Virtual Learning Environment platform, which has different progress tracking capabilities than the older platform.

There is typically a what's new for major software releases http://support.sas.com/documentation/whatsnew/index.html, not for a class like Programming 1, though.

To study for the exam, you should go by the Exam Content Guide.

@Cynthia_sas Looks like there is at least one typo in that list of topics document.

Use temporary variables N and ERROR to debug a DATA step.

I assume they meant the _N_ and _ERROR_ automatic variables?
