Background Submit in SAS On Demand for Academics

I am trying the following in SAS On Demand for Academics

"You can run one or more saved SAS programs in the background and continue to use SAS Studio while the background jobs execute. To run a program as a background job, right-click the program in the Server Files and Folders section of the navigation pane, and then select Background Submit from the pop-up menu."

But when I right-click my program, I only see the following:

Maybe it's not included in SODA?  I haven't played with SODA, but it's possible it's using an older / limited version of Studio?

I found this paper https://www.lexjansen.com/wuss/2017/38_Final_Paper_PDF.pdf which has a screen shot of a menu like you showed, with the background submit option.  Which makes me think you're looking in the right place, but it just aint there.

This doesn't seem to be a feature in SAS OnDemand for Academics. In SAS Studio from a local install, the feature does appear as you can see below. The main reason I think this feature would be disabled is because a background submission needs a separate compute server and this might overwhelm a platform that has thousands of users.

I queried SAS Tech Support and they confirmed that indeed, background submission is not available in SAS On Demand.

Thanks for confirming! I hope they enable it at some point (with limitations, of course) so users can test it out.
