Dear all,

I have a huge dataset (over 1,000,000 records) with TWO  date variables, date1 (Date9.) format, date2 (YYMMDDN8.) format.. I want to see the lowest and highest values of the date variable to verify this dataset contains all the years I needed.

for example, I expect the earliest year is 1976, and latest is 2011.

I tried:

proc means var date1 date2;

but it shows numeric values, I can't tell which year it is.

Is there an easier way?

Thanks,

Lan
