I have a proc sql statement and the first line of the where clause looks like

 

WHERE calculated BRANCH_NO ^= TABLE1.BRANCH_NO

 

Can anyone tell me what the ^= operator is. I'm guessing it's just equivalent to != but maybe it's some kind of logical operator

It means 'not equal to'
