Hi,

I have separate datasets for cases  (CASES) and controls (CONTROLS). I want to choose 3 controls per case and identify which controls were matched to each case. My matching variables are age (+- 2 years), gender (same gender) and service year (+-2 years). I want to have a data set, containing a strata variable linking the cases to the matched controls which looks like the following (attached):

CaseID

I would suggest taking a look at PROC PSMATCH or the Mayo Clinic has some macros on their site that do matching, gmatch/greedy matching is the one I recall.
