Hello,

 

I have values with spaces i want to strip.

 

data (character values):

var1
(   5.4%, 15.3%)
(     100.0%)
(100.0%,99.9%)

 

 

want:

var1
(5.4%, 15.3%)
(100.0%)
(100.0%,99.9%)

Use the COMPRESS() function.  That will remove specific characters.  The default is to remove spaces.

data want;
  set have;
  var1=compress(var1);
run;
