VS Code Extension- log configuration

How (and where) can I configure the log output preferences in the VS Code Extension?

For example, I'm so used to EG and Display Manager, I would like the log (which is OUTPUT in VS Code Extension) to show up in a separate tab, not in the little OUTPUT tab in the "Panel" at the bottom, is that possible?  So you would have a tab for the Log, along side the tabs for programs and results.

I would also like the option of having the log automatically display after each submission, because the LOG is that important.

I would also like to be able to configure colors for the log.  So in PC SAS, I have errors and warnings formatted in reverse, so that there is a big RED band for errors to make them stand out.

I'm just starting to play with VS code extension.  I see lots of lovely configuration options for the editor window under File->Preferences->Settings Text Editor, but I don't see options for configuring the log (Output) window.

@Quentin Good questions and requests. The best way to get the attention of the developers is to add a GitHub issue on the project. It's very active there.
