Yes @FreelanceReinhard absolutely. Since you were in a setting where your main data step had to "respond" to values from the called code, that would NOT have been possible with CALL EXECUTE. That magic is only available via DOSUBL, because the main step pauses execution (or compilation, depending on how DOSUBL is called), and then waits for the side-session to complete before resuming. Great example of DOSUBL benefits! : )
