Is there any way to calculate a field in a select statement based on a calculated field in the same statement.  Example:

Proq sql;

create table want as

select

input (var1, BEST26.) as var1_new,

input (var2, BEST26.) as var2_new,

sum(var1_new, var2_new) as sum_var,

from have

quit;
