In previous versions of SAS, it was possible to use relative file paths by doing the following:

  1. Select File > Project Properties.
  2. Select File References.
  3. Check the Use paths relative to the project for programs and importable files box

However the Project Properties tool no longer appears in SAS EG 8.2 and I can't see another way to get relative file paths to work

A colleague has managed to answer this:

In EG 8.2, under the project tab, if you click on the three dots and go to "Properties" then the option is there

I know it's not the "good answer", but in 8.3 it is there. Maybe it is 8.2 issue?

According to this doc: https://documentation.sas.com/api/collections/egdoccdc/8.2/docsets/egug/content/egug.pdf?locale=en

On page 39:

Note: This option is available only for projects that
are saved on your local computer. This option does
not apply to projects that are saved on a SAS server
