On UNIX, an absolute path starts at the system root directory, symbolized by a single slash. Whenever a path is encountered that does not start with a single slash, the system starts to look in the current working directory of the calling process; with a SAS workspace server, this is usually the directory in which the WorkspaceServer.sh script is located, somewhere in the SAS configuration tree.
