I know how to use Proc Sql but I don't understand how the computer thinks about Proc SQL Right now, I am using the Cody book but it is not helping me get a deeper understanding of why Proc Sql  works. Thanks!

Hi ahobby9,

Without sounding too biased, I believe my new book published by SAS Press, "PROC SQL: Beyond the Basics Using SAS, Third Edition" may provide you with what you're looking for. It contains twelve chapters with two new chapters in the third edition on Fuzzy Matching Techniques and Data-driven Programming Techniques. To give you a better idea of what's inside the third edition, I've enclosed a link, below, that provides the table of contents along with a Chapter 1 excerpt.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best Regards,

Kirk
