ftp file name sequentially

How could I ftp a file sequentially. FOr example:
First job run outputs file1.1.csv
2nd time output file1.2.csv
3rd time 1.3.csv
..... 1.x.csv

You really need to be more specific about how you intend to process the external file and also what the external file represents. Detailed info about your INPUT and OUTPUT data formats would be useful, however what you would like to accomplish with your SAS application would also be useful.
