Hello,

I am trying to compute tolerance interval using different types of statistical software. I believe proc capability can compute the tolerance interval. However, as I looked at the formula that computes the TI, it looks like it's assuming it is coming from a normal distribution. Can I compute tolerance interval from other distributions (ex. Logistic, Gamma, Poisson etc) using proc capability?

Thank you for all the help!

I think you are correct that the tolerance intervals in PROC CAPABILITY assume normality. I recall that the book by Hahn and Meeker (1991) contains more intervals, some of which are easy to implement.

A previous thread asked about nonparametric tolerance intervals and mentions a SAS macro.
