As excitement for SGF 2018 builds, I'm wondering if the proceedings will be published online in the next few days?
With such an extensive menu of excellent presentations, it often helps to read papers in advance... even if only on the plane ride. : )
My experience has been that the papers have been made available the Monday the conference starts via the conference app (which I strongly recommend downloading by the way - it's a great tool for organizing the sessions you are interested in as well as social media aspects).
They are made available online after SASGF has concluded.
I usually use the app to review the paper either right before or after the presentation, then if it's something I might want to refer to later there's an option in the app to forward it via email. Had about 12-15 presentations in my inbox at work when I returned. Extremely useful tool.
I tend to relax my mind on the flight there. as once I arrive it's SAS overload (in the best kind of way).
Thanks @LauraJean, good tips.
Looks like last year they published the proceedings a couple days before the conference started. Conference started April 2, and they posted them March 31, per https://communities.sas.com/t5/SAS-Global-Forum-2017/SAS-Global-Forum-Proceedings-are-live/gpm-p/346....
So I'm hoping we might have a couple days of lead time again.
Oh good. I missed that then.............(or maybe I saw it and thought nah - need a nap on the plane instead 🙂 )
Lots of excitement building. Looking forward to the conference.
Yes - please advise when the proceedings will become available (if available prior to start of conference). Would much rather read beforehand on my laptop or desktop computer than view within app on my cell.
I don't know when all of this year's SGF papers will be available, or which topics will interest you, but here are two excellent papers that are available already:
