Are you a safe merger? To find out, you're invited to attend my presentation "Merge with Caution: How to Avoid Common Problems When Combining SAS® Data Sets" on Monday, April 9, from 1:30pm to 2:30pm in Room 207 at the Colorado Convention Center.
We'll inspect 7 examples of merges gone wrong and investigate exactly what happened in each case. To find out, we'll examine the inner workings of the data step, delve into the program data vector, and discuss the sequence of events during data step compilation and execution. Finally, we'll conclude with some recommendations on good coding practices for safe merges!
As a special bonus, you'll have the opportunity to earn the limited-edition "Safe Merger" badge ribbon (pictured below) by attending the presentation. Wear it with pride and impress all your SAS friends!

Rats, I already have a couple presentations I was planning to see that overlap. I'll have to find your paper in the proceedings - and perhaps I can get a copy of your presentation after the conference?
Have you presented this elsewhere @jmhorstman - perhaps MWSUG? I believe I may have seen it before so I may not attend again, although I'd like the ribbon. I know I've enjoyed every presentation you've given.
Sounds interesting I will check it out 🙂
