Can SGF pressenters get access to the feedback that people entered via the app?
I disagree. At the end of SGF, I am heading home to a full inbox and the last thing I need is more email added to the pile. We are innundated with requests for feedback and surveys. Not just by SAS ,but from everywhere. It's ridiculous. At this point, the only thing I feel when I get another request is annoyed.
I think there is a time limit when it comes to obtaining meaningful feedback. One way may be that the speaker needs to connect to his or her audience enough to ask that they fill out the feedback on the app before they leave the room. But, that's when competition kicks in. At that point, I'd be thinking (as an attendee) that I've got 10 minutes to get in and out of the ladies room, grab a coffee or water and make it over to my next presentation, let alone try to talk to some people. So in order to get feedback, it's got to be easy for the attendee. Not just easy, but super-easy and super-quick. I just opened my 2016 SGF app. First thing I noticed is that none of the icons in the app is for Feedback. Sure, it may be buried under Sessions or My Event, but that's not enough and it speaks volumes. Why should I as an attendee take my time to fill out "feedback:" when SAS didn't even provide an icon for it on the App?

This is a great discussion. Thanks for the feedback.
I took some notes especially as it pertains to the mobile app. The session survey which asks about the presenter is tied to each individual session so that the data is collected correctly and specifically to a session. Perhaps the feedback section could be general questions and open ended comments.
Thanks for the information to consider.
I agree, if you want more feedback, it should be incredibly easy for attendees to leave. I personally like the idea of the app (which knows which sessions you scheduled, if you enter them) sending a push notification (unless you opt-out) right at the end of each session, that says something along the lines of, "Leave feedback for this session "<session title>"?" and a very simple feedback form (less than 5 clicks/presses and optional text entry). I'm unlikely to seek out the form to leave feedback, but if my phone prompts me and I can do it in less than a minute, I likely will.

Agree @CaseySmith, having the app and a push notification or perhaps there is a code that can be scanned while entering or leaving the room if the session wasn't in your schedule. Needs to be simple. Even paper feedback forms would be good on the chairs - people can fill them in while the session is happening, eliminates any technology woes and provides the opportunity for anonymous feedback for those that would prefer to have this option.
Or perhaps even something as simple as a large gong in the back of the room!
Josh,
Are you sure that you are not thinking of the Gong Show? Although there are times when a gong might be helpful to remind the speaker to get away from the mic, as in: "that Carpenter is speaking again, better go get the gong".
