"An unexpected error has occurred" after double-clicking on a library

Hi all,

I am very, very new to SAS and having some trouble using a library I create. For background on my particular situation, I'm using Enterprise Guide 7.15 HF3 on a Windows VM, and after I create a new library in Management Console, I can see it in Enterprise Guide but the icon is white and not yellow which I have read means it isn't active. After I double-click on the library, I get a message saying "An unexpected error has occurred: The library could not be assigned by the SAS Server" and I also read something about "User does not have appropriate authorization level for library TestLIB" in the error details. 

I've discussed this with my SAS Admin at my workplace but he is just as new as I am and doesn't know what to do or what permission to enable and for obvious reasons, they don't want to enable all permissions for me.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Can you open a program editor in Enterprise Guide (File - new - program) and manually submit a LIBNAME statement to the same location you created in SMC (instead of clicking on the library)?

After submitting the LIBNAME statement to the same location on the SAS server, are you able to expand the library and open tables? If you encounter the same authorization error, it indicates that the userid being used in Enterprise Guide doesn't have permission to access the underlying folder in referenced in the LIBNAME statement. Can you verify with the systems administrator that this userid has full read/write access to the folder on the operating system level?

Thank you for the quick reply and your help. I think the issue was the user ID in EG. I found a video that helped me change the credentials I was using and I can now see the libraries in EG.
