Looking for suggestions for a good book to use for a reference and learning Proc Report/Proc Tabluate and ODS.  Preferrable looking for something that I can use to help new team members become familiar with these tools in SAs.

Thank you!

For PROC REPORT I would search LexJansen.com with Cynthia Zender's and/or Art Carpenter name and read some of those papers.

Papers:

https://support.sas.com/resources/papers/proceedings17/SAS0431-2017.pdf

Book:

PROC TABULATE

Hi:
Thanks @Reeza for including me in Art's company.

In addition to those suggestions, our Report Writing 1 class covers REPORT, TABULATE and ODS: https://support.sas.com/edu/schedules.html?ctry=us&crs=RPT1 and this class https://support.sas.com/edu/schedules.html?ctry=us&crs=SASXL covers using Excel-based ODS destinations and PROC EXPORT to get output into Excel.

Agree with all the suggestions.  Since the question mentions ODS, wanted to add my ODS bible has been:

https://www.sas.com/store/books/categories/examples/output-delivery-system-the-basics-and-beyond/pro...

Speaking of which, @Cynthia_sas, when I was at SGF I saw the book on display and said to the pubs folks "I love this book, do you know if there is any hope of a second edition?"  And they said "That's a great idea.  You should ask the authors."  So, any hope?

Hi,
Ha! That book was the second edition. Lauren wrote the first edition by herself. As for a 3rd edition, I don't know -- except for new screen shots, ODS PowerPoint and ODS Excel and a few other things, the basic information in that book is still good. It's something to consider.

A couple of years ago, I took on a contract where I was going to have to format a report in excruciating detail, having had little experience doing this previously. I bought Art Carpenter's "Carpenter's Complete Guide to the SAS REPORT Procedure", and I thought it was absolutely wonderful. Hugely assisted me on my project.

HI, I agree...Art's book is great! Lisa Fine's book is really good, too for the way she dives into the report construction from beginning to end. And, I am a fan of Jane Eslinger's books, too. Poor PROC TABULATE only has 1 book -- This one is by Lauren and Julie McKnight) and it is good too -- https://www.sas.com/store/books/categories/examples/proc-tabulate-by-example-second-edition/prodBK_6... (and a bunch of papers on www.lexjansen.com on TABULATE)
