The font is fuzzy in editor of EG 5.1, how to do?
Tony,
See if the strategies in this document help:

Chris
But the font is OK in editor of EG 4.3,the font become fuzzy after installing EG 5.1!
In EG 5.1, there is a new option: Tools->Options->General - Enable Hardware Rendering. Try toggling that option and restart EG to see if it helps.
Chris
It is not work,but thanks!
Hi, Please try Tools->Options->SAS Programs-> Click Editor Options->Go to Appearance tab. Here you can specify the Font type and size. Let me know if this has resolved your issue.
Thanks,
I have tried, but it is fuzzy too.
I have the same issue..........Any one help?
Which font(s) are you using in the Editor?
I wouldn't say my fonts are blurry, but code definitley looks different in 5.1, and I can't get it to look like code in 4.3.
I have SAS Program File font set to Courier New size 14 in both. EG is running on a remote server (Win Server 2003), I'm connecting to it via Remote Destop.
in EG 4.3 my code looks like:
In 5.2 my code looks like:
Main difference being that font looks thinner. And the quotes almost look like dreaded curly quotes (they aren't).
If I bump the font sixe up to 16, at leat the quotes look straight again:
Thoughts?
Seems like I'm being picky, but when changing versions, little things like this can drive you crazy for a while....
Thx,

Quentin,
What if you try an OpenType font, such as Consolas (my favorite for code...)? The OpenType fonts do better with WPF presentation.
Chris
Thanks Chris,
So... I don't know much about fonts. I think the last time I worried about hardware fonts vs software fonts was back when TS-252X was the holy grail for writing MS Office-friendly graphs, using CGMOF97 driver... So happy to have ODS now! : )
If I don't see Consolas in the drop down list of fonts available, what does that mean? From a quick web search, looks like I would need to ask the admin of the server (Win 2003) to install the font on the server. I can't just do it in my account somehow as a user. Sound right?
Found this link about the font: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rds/archive/2006/09/08/747023.aspx , and looks good.
Doh! Found a couple links from Microsoft that suggestsWin Server 2003 may not support ClearType fonts:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302555
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rds/archive/2006/09/08/747023.aspx
So maybe I'm out of luck.
Then again this blog says there's an old hotfix which could allow it.
http://www.pseale.com/blog/2008/06/10/ClearTypeInServer2003OverRDP.aspx
So maybe I'd have to wait until the folks that administer the Win 2003 server are in a good mood, and ask them to install the hot fix to enalbe ClearType fonts, and then install Consolas. Then I would see it as an option in EG. Sound right? Guess until then I may play with other fonts. Or maybe my eyes will just adjust.
Thanks!

Sorry Quentin - I missed the detail about running on Win2003 server.
Consolas is installed with later versions of Windows, and with some MS products like Visual Studio and later versions of MS Office. However, it might not be a practical solution for you. Win2003 is not long for this world (well, if MS End-Of-Life docs are to be believed), so time to begin looking at modernization!
Chris
Thanks Chris,
Modernization would be lovely. We just finished the jump off of XP, so I may not see the Win2003 server upgraded until it too hits the End-of-life wall. : )
