I will have a fairly long-running process that my users will submit from Enterprise Guide to a Linux SAS server environment. I'd like to pass back update messages along the lines of "phase 1 complete", "phase 2 complete", etc. as the SAS program is running, and have the messages appear in real time in the EG message area, or in a pop-up box, or something.

Anybody have any ideas about how to do this?

Thanks,

  Tom

Remembered this post from Chris H on the subject, and it includes a link back to an earlier post he did on the same:

Thank you so much, Quentin!

I was SURE I'd seen something like this, but I couldn't find the blessed thing! I searched all over support.sas.com, sigh!

Thanks again,

  Tom
