I have a  text prompt called &person that selects a name like Smith, Sally that I would like to output in my report in sas eg.

I tried creating a calculated field with &PROSPECT_STAFF prompt value. It is picking up the value, but is confused by the comma.

I suspect I need a put or input statement?  Here is the error after I tried defining it with $CHAR40.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

So thankful!  I was using single quotes, trying to use input, put statements to change the data type!  Thanks so much!

So to be clear, for anyone following up on this--

I created a text prompt that generated a variable &Prospect_Staff

To output it in the report, I created a calculated field with just "&Prospect_Staff", with no additional formats!

Works great, thanks to Reeza!
