Only to tell that I loved EG v7.15 ability to auto-collapse left-side boxed views (like Servers, Projects, etc.), leaving me both more room in the main window to work but still having such elements accessible in a blink (expandable too): nowadays, I'm working with EG v8.3 since at least a year, I've always to move the divider, to see more of the side-boxes or more of the workspace: sure not blocking but even sure annoying. That's a user feedback to SAS devs.
Of course I accept comments and suggestions, to better manage my daily work, but this thread don't need a real "solution", unless devs will decide to remake this interface's part.
If you have more than one monitor then you can always move the Servers or Projects windows to another monitor for even more screen space with EG 8. Personally I love the tabbing layout in EG 8 because I prefer working with multiple programs at the same time.
Thank you very much for the hint. Working from home I've just the company laptop's single screen, but I'll try to take profit of the new windowing ways given by Windows11.
At the same time, I can't avoid to think that SAS/EG developers shouldn't refer to a possibly absent multi-monitor/multi-window capability, hopefully re-introducing the original ability to manage such boxes in the current single layout: I'm missing some things from the old v7.15, like the ability to right-click whichever task to directly take a look at its own SASlog (this item have been inexplicably removed from the contextual menu).
Sure EG8.3 is a good leap forward, but it left behind some useful features nonetheless.
Speaking of added features, I was hoping they added the ability to open multiple projects in the same session. Just a nice to have, as we 're able to open multiple parallel sessions at the same time (but I can imagine environments where such sessions are reduced to just one: there, a multi-project ability could be of great help).
EG 8 doesn't appear to allow having multiple projects open at the same time unfortunately. A workaround would be to open multiple EG instances and open different projects in each.
