I imported a text file using the "Import Data" prompt. When trying to save the file after the Import Data wizard pops up, an error message occurs: "Item 'name' does not exist. Please verify that the correct name was given."

It might be that the default name/location for your File "Save As" location is not a valid place for you to write a SAS data set. As a test, select the WORK library, and a simple name like "TEST" for the data set.
