Hi Syn,

From source designer->externalfiles->browse for the file location.

once source is created from target designer you can create target(eg shows for sas di 3.4)

Thanks,

Shiva

Thank you Shiva.

My question here is I want to use the external file directly from server to job Like File reader transformation.

Is it possible?

Other wise, I need to create external file beofre it self then only I have to use in job - File reader transformation?

Please clarify.

Hi Syn,

If I understand you correctly,Second one pretty simple and easy to do(check the image)

For the first option(not tested) but you can try creating an odbc server or excel server in SASMC and then try to register the external data and then you can directly read using file reader.
