Has anyone migrated from Studio 2.4 to 2.6? My reading suggests it should be straight forward. The environment is very simple without Web studio, etc.

Thanks,

Barb

Hi Barb,

Yes, it should be a straightforward process. It's always a good idea to back up your jobs, QKBs, repositories, macro files and configuration files just in case though I don't expect you would run into problems in those areas. One thing to keep an eye on is authentication. Data Management Platform (Data Management [aka DataFlux] Studio and Data Management Server) now uses SAS Authentication instead of DataFlux Authentication Server. The documentation contains information about how to migrate users/groups from the latter to the former.

Hello,

I am on the task to migrate a couple of exiting jobs in Data Management Studio from SAS 9.3 to SAS 9.4 on a Linux environment. These jobs basically clean data for data regarding to address and names and phone numbers on a medium-large data volume, and integrates with another sas codes. Also there is an existing QKB.

My experience with Data management studio is poor since I just did long time ago profiling, matching, standarization and very basic tasks in general.

Is there a guide where I can find the task that should be done for this, for example for backup it means a spk in data management console or it should be done from data management studio? Do I need backup or create new metadata?

I was checking this but not cover an scenario like this, since it seems it cover just from dataflux to data management studio, and not from a data management studio to a higer version of it.

Also I am confused with some documentation I saw, maybe you know where I can clarify my doubts. I understand that sas bought dataflux and then rename dataflux server as data management server and dataflux (client) as data management server. But also I see there is a data quality server, so don't understand too much about it. If there is any diagram or reference you can share...

Any advice in general will be great.
