One way to do it after you have the data is using a dedup step using a sort:

Proc sort data=your dataset name nodupkeys;

   By sic total_assets;

Run;

The other way would be by eliminating the duplicates within the process sql step like a "select distinct".

Hi PG,

I really appreciate following your codes.  I am working on another project where I have to match on age (± 3), edu (±2), race, parity (0,≥1)

and date of blood sample.  I was unable to enter date of blood sample variable correctly, however sample data (cases and controls) available.   Can you guide me how to proceed on matching cases with controls (1 case with 2 controls)?

Thanks

Sounds like an interesting problem. Please post as a new topic with input/expected_output example data, in the SAS Statistical Procedures community.
