Nordic FANS had a networking trip to the US and the SAS Headquarters in Cary, North Carolina, from October 4th to 6th, 2022, with 45 people traveling.

There were participants from all Nordic countries – Denmark, Finland, Norway & Sweden, and we tried to make a program based on the participant's wishes. And based on the feedback we have got, it succeeded to a great extent – a trip to recommend to others.

During our stay, we had presentations about roadmap and directions, breakout sessions about Analytics, Data Management & Visual Analytics, Demo booths, and a lot more, and just mentioning: Customer Success, Education, Communities, Tech support, and Data for Good. And always with the possibility to give feedback.

We also had a session with the design group in Cary, where the participant got the possibility to give first-hand input to future versions of the SAS software.

Along with the professional content, we tried to support the networking aspect with networking dinners where there was talk and establishing new contacts across companies and countries. And for the able participants, we arranged a trip to PNC Arena in Cary to see Carolina Hurricanes – the local Ice hockey team, the night before the official program started. And yes, we also saw some of Dr. Jim Goodnight's Gems.

To recap: We have received fantastic feedback from the Program, Presenters, and the venue. But also input as to how we could make it even better. Input that, of course, will be incorporated if we should decide to make a trip to Cary again.
