I knew what neural networks are and how to use them through my work-related projects, but I didn't fully understand their innermost workings just by reading about them or even using Enterprise Miner to build projects. So I decided to write SAS macros using SAS/IML to build classification and regression neural network models.
I was reasonably successful in my efforts and would like to share my results with the SAS Community. These macros are best understood to be a teaching tool and not a substitute for a state-of-the-art software package like Enterprise Miner or SAS/Viya.
I enclose the conference paper in which I document my work and the macros themselves. You can read the paper to learn how to use the macro suite that I have written.
Good news: We've extended SAS Hackathon registration until Sept. 12, so you still have time to be part of our biggest event yet – our five-year anniversary!
